The Multiflex Denim Skirt by Courrèges. The unique feature of this denim skirt is that it looks like the fly buttons of a Levi's 501 jeans run along the entire length of the skirt, adding an exciting detail to the otherwise straight-cut, long white garment. Just put on a black or grey t-shirt and a pair of Veja sneakers, and you're ready to go anywhere!
The French brand was founded in 1961 by former Balenciaga designer André Courrèges, who was a modern visionary of his time and was famous for his futuristic designs, technological innovation, and use of unconventional materials such as metal, plastic, and PVC. He scandalously earned his credit and fame within the industry by inventing both the miniskirt and the super sexy, lacquer Courrèges go-go boots. The brand keeps creating further controversy with its sculptural, cut-out designs supporting the breast liberation movement in line with the designer's ideology of fashion stating that a ‘woman’s body must be hard and free, not soft and harnessed’.
After the brand’s remarkable comeback, Courrèges landed on our shelves straight from Paris. During the 50s, the cult haute couture label introduced to the fashion world such iconic, feminine pieces as the mini skirt, the fitted bodysuit or the white leather boots. Now, the brand has returned to its former glorious position without losing from its former sensuality and innovativeness. What is more, they kicked the door down with more brute force than anyone else recently in the fashion world: the Courrèges jacket immediately became the emblem of casual style touched by Parisian chic. We decided without hesitation to ride this wave long before it reaches its peak.
